sometimes when we question someone’s purpose in our life we want to dig deeper into the reason we’ve met them. by looking at the position of our nodes in each other’s houses in synastry we can indicate why someone is in our life & we can see what they were to us in our past life as well
the south node (sn) is our past
south node overlays
❥ 1st house: [meant to meet each other, knew each other since they were very, here to lighten up each other’s lives] when you first meet you have an instant connection. both find each other very interesting and there can be some intense tension that won’t let you let one another go (this is because you are destined to meet)
❥ 2nd house: [sn in the other person’s second house is an indicator of being married in your past (sn person was the wife because the second house represents someone’s wife) both were very close in the past life and found comfort in one another. on the other side both could’ve been violent to each other before, killed one another or someone else.] when meeting sn person can become very attached to house person very quickly because they’re most likely to feel the soulmate connection first and house person could instantly get possessive over sn person
❥ 3rd house: sn person may remember some memories they had with house person in the past life but they don’t know it’s a memory since they think it’s only something they’ve randomly dreamed about. most likely here to teach other a lesson in this life because the third house represents our acquaintances and you were them in the past life which means you met them again to finish a lesson you didn’t previously.
❥ 4th house: went through karmic lessons in the past life together and in this one you can finally ‘love each other the way you were supposed to’. sn in the other person’s fourth house could also indicate being involved into dangerous things together, such as dealing with a crime but you both will always love one another no matter the conditions and terms you are on. the south node here doesn’t let go
❥ 5th house: friends to lovers type of relationship, may have abused each other before emotionally or either physically. had a child together before that’s why in this life you meet again to either finally get together because you didn’t in the past life (affair) or you finally learn to stay away from each other.
❥ 6th house: a not so good placement for south node in synastry. sn person probably caused some sort of harm to house person in previous life which leads house person to get their revenge in this life (sixth house represents enemies). this can indicate a long lasting connection with one another even though it can get toxic very fast [explanation: south node is our past and we need to let go of the traits of the sign ruling our sn. the sixth house deals with our health which makes you bad for each other, but always in memory of another].
❥ 7th house: another indicator of being married in the previous life since the seventh house represents marriage. even though the sn requires you to let go of certain things it’s in good position here because you were each other’s happiness in the previous life (especially with income since you made each other’s needs a priority).
❥ 8th house: many astrologers like to believe that the sn person could’ve had killed the house person before and now in this lifetime house person gets their revenge. others may not necessarily think of this overlay as being each other’s murderer but you’re only here for a short time, not a long time. only here to learn each other a lesson. on the good side, this overlay can indicate ‘finally finding the right one for yourselves’ after everyone you’ve been with before meeting each other (especially house person).
❥ 9th house: destined to meet (both know it). this overlay indicates being together for a reason and it can also indicate that you’ve only met to heal one another (especially because of the mistakes you’ve made before in the previous life). huge life lesson, it only depends if you’ll stay with each other or not
❥ 10th house: [my personal indicator of marriage as well since the tenth house represents our mother in law so this automatically makes you both have a very good and romantic relationship, sn person may take it too serious early on and insist to make the house person meet their parents] destined to meet for a good reason because similar to the seventh house you were a big gain of success to one another (especially financially) < this overlay could indicate getting married because the marriage is set up.
❥ 11th house: finally learning how to love one another again, universe keeps brining you guys back together (for a non karmic reason). may have children together because the eleventh house represents children, could’ve been each other’s “worst nightmare” in the previous life and in this life you finally learn to ‘shake hands’ definitely a soulmate indicator!
❥ 12th house: very karmic overlay. kind of relationship where you might think you both are ‘the one’ to each other but it’s all a delusion. powerful love in the beginning but the worst and most miserable in the end, sn person is here to teach house person a huge lesson or even harm them for something they’ve done before. [bad overlay since sn person even forced house person to stay away from their own happiness, insane toxicity since the twelfth house represents mental pain]. south node here requires you to learn your lesson and leave each other alone. on the good side you still bring a lot of joy to each other because as toxic as you are for each other you still know what you both deeply love
